Most of the music artists that play T in the Park are alternative and indie rock acts, but some acts from other genres will also appear each year. 180 different artists performed at the 2011 festival. The 2011 version of T in the Park had headlining acts that included the Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Beyonce. T in the Park takes place on the same weekend as the Oxegen Music Festival, which occurs in Ireland. Most acts choose to play both festivals on different days of the weekend, so they share much of the same line up.
Glastonbury is the oldest of the UK music festivals and dates back to the 1970s. Glastonbury takes place each year over 3 days on the last weekend of June in the city of Pilton, Somerset. Glastobury is one of the only music festivals to sell out each year, and the festival sells 135,000 tickets each year. The 2011 festival cost 195 euros to attend all 3 days. Some of the major acts that performed included U2, Paul Simon, Morrissey, Coldplay and Beyonce.
The V Festival is a 2 day music festival that occurs in various locations in England on the second to last weekend of August. V Festival is sponsored by Virgin Media, which makes it the only sponsor UK music festival. V festival is fairly smaller than the two other UK music festivals, but it still manages to get some large acts. The headlining acts for the 2011 festival were Arctic Monkeys and Eminem.
